DESCRIPTION

Cast-aluminium body with stainless steel material hopper, stainless steel auger and separate electronic controls.

A variety of neckpieces are available for mounting the unit at the throat of the machine.

The unit is easily removed from the neckpiece for calibration and a slide-gate is provided to enable fast clean-down for material change.

The auger is driven by a high-precision stepper motor.

The controls provide variable-speed setting and include a timer and a calibration button.

Due to the nature of the stepper motor, the auger speed can be varied from 10% to 100% thus providing a wide range of dosing rates without the need to change the auger size.

OPERATION

Injection Moulding :

Upon receiving a screw-back signal from the machine, the auger will rotate at the set speed and the material will be dosed into the neckpiece where it blends with the virgin material.

The auger runs for the duration of the screw-back period or for the time set on the timer.

Extrusion and Blow Moulding :

The unit will run continuously at the speed set on the controls. The controls include a 0 to 10vDC extruder screw-speed following function to coordinate the speed of the dosing unit to the extruder.
